Government Relations Writing
Born to a lawmaker-turned-lobbyist and a Reagan-administration speechwriter, Jami Taylor’s childhood was in many respects an intensive apprenticeship, enabling her to hone skills in political communication from a very early age. By the age of 19, in addition to receiving numerous awards for her writing and scholarship, Jami had already ghost-authored her first Wall Street Journal piece for a Fortune 500 CEO and prepared speeches delivered at Capitol Hill press conferences. During and in the years just following college, Jami worked closely with a large network of congressional offices, advocacy groups, trade associations, public affairs firms, and the White House to develop materials and strategy for a series of highly successful issue campaigns of national scale and reach.
Jami formally launched her company in 2003 and has since amassed an impressive list of clients in Washington, state capitals, and countries around the globe. Praised by those clients as “a miracle worker,” Jami consistently demonstrates a keen ability to synthesize highly complex information and translate it into arguments with persuasive force, her work always informed by an expert understanding of the political landscape and key players within it.
For this reason, Jami is especially sought after in the complex sphere of health policy: She has authored congressional testimony for some of the nation’s most well-respected physicians and scientists, drafted reports on topics ranging from comparative effectiveness to biosimilars, and developed legislative strategy on an even wider range of issues for leading healthcare advocates and multinational corporations.
In November 2007, Working Mother magazine featured Jami alongside Congresswoman Deborah Pryce for her personal advocacy work and expertise. Jami is also a contributing editor of Global Pharmacovigilance Laws and Regulations: The Essential Reference, a book published by the Food & Drug Law Institute in Spring 2009.
Jami received her B.A. with distinction in American Government from the University of Virginia. She splits her time between northern Virginia and southern California. She can be reached at email@example.com.
